Moroz, Mary Ellen (Standing) 

Died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital. She shared 52 wonderful years with her husband George and was sadly predeceased by her son Micheal (2021). Born and raised in Toronto and Woodbridge, she moved to Muskoka, living in Port Sydney and Bracebridge.

Mary had a late start at university, starting as a mature student at the age of 25. She graduated from York University in Honours Geography in 1969 and from the University of Guelph with a Master of Arts degree in 1971.

She began her professional planning career in Toronto but shortly moved to her beloved Muskoka where she was the Director of Area Services and subsequently Director of Planning for the District of Muskoka. After the arrival of son Michael, she worked in the private planning consulting sector.

Mary was involved in many volunteer organizations, including over 20 years at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Day Surgery and ER Information. Mary was also an enthusiastic bird watcher and walker.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be given to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, St. Thomas Anglican Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home.
