Mary Skala (née Holubik) June 18, 1929 - March 11, 2015 SKALA, Mary (nee Holubik) Peacefully at home in Bracebridge, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Gustav Skala. Loving mother of Richard (Margaret Mulder), Karen (Raymond Neill), Karl (Kelsey Burns) and Erika (John Black). Cherished Grandmother of Kristofer, Erik, Nicholas, Taylor, Ashley, Madison and Hannah. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Holubik. Sister of Michael Holubik and Sister, Irene Koson. Mary was born in Czechoslovakia. She moved to Canada where she met and married Gustav Skala. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to South Muskoka Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Special thanks to doctors Cross, Gupta and McGregor, nurse Mary-Sue Hart, all the nurses and staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and all her wonderful neighbours in "Pleasantville". Mary's priority in life was family. She enjoyed the outdoors, walking, gardening, bowling and volunteering in the community. A celebration of Mary's life will be held later in the summer.
