GILLAN, MONICA (Drafting Technician with Coote, Hiley, Jemmett in Bracebridge) The family of Monica Gillan are sad to announce the passing of a dearly loved family member. Surrounded by family and friends, Monica died on Monday, October 17th, 2016, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, at the age of 56. She fought a courageous and brave battle against cancer, from the first diagnosis. Cherished wife of 34 years to Jon Gillan of Bracebridge, which they celebrated on October 9th, 2016. Devoted and caring mother of Kaela Gillan-McKelvey of Brantford (Charles) and Lisa Gillan of Bracebridge. Much loved daughter of Martha Mittelstrass and the late Werner. Daughter-in-law of Lillian Gillan and the late Bruce Gillan. Joyful and fun loving sister of Thomas Mittelstrass (Bonny Gliddon) and Stefan Mittelstrass (Beverley); all of Gravenhurst. Sister-in-law of Peter Pratt (Janet), Barth Gillan (Diane Oki-Gillan), Doug Fullerton (Nancy) and Lynn Allsop (Kim). Dearest Aunt of many nieces and nephews. VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE Friends will be received at Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", Bracebridge on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. and from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Bracebridge on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., with reception following in the Church Hall. As your expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Anglican Church, Bracebridge or to the O.S.P.C.A. and would be in keeping with Monica's wishes.
