Nancy Luella Smith (nee Stimpson) passed away peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on September 19, 2017 at age 79. The only child of Marguerite and Jack Stimpson born in Port Sandfield on March 18, 1938. Nancy is survived by husband Mervin Smith and wed on June 21, 1958. Beloved mother to Donna, Bruce (Angie), Glenn (Dawn) and David (Joanne). Much loved grandmother to Shannon (Jake)Smith, Candice (Jarrod) Ross, Sarah, Scott, Michelle, Lindsey (Evan) Bunn, and Riley. Great grandmother to Maddison and Scarlett. She graduated from both Ryerson University and Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, her second degree obtained much later in her life as a testament to her thirst for knowledge and a challenge. Nancy enjoyed her many hobbies including bible study, reading, gardening and feeding an extensive cross section of birds and animals. She enjoyed volunteering within the church, the Scouting movement and Pioneer Power. She especially loved the family pets she cared for. A visitation will be held between 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, September 22, 2017 at Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel." The funeral service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 1 Mary Street in Bracebridge on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Lt Kam Robinson of Salvation Army Community church will be officiating. Following the funeral service a reception will take place at the Bracebridge Salvation Army Community church, 456 Manitoba Street.
