It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Timothy George MacKinnon, on November 1, 2024, at the age of 67. Beloved spouse to Sharon, a treasured father to John (Diane) and Jenna (Paul). Born to the late Wenman and Fanny MacKinnon, he leaves behind siblings Barry (Carolyn) and Debbie (Roger) and was predeceased by Donna (Alan), Hughie (Lorraine), Ronnie, and Warren (Judy). Neil will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, who were very dear to him.
He was born in Brantford, ON and spent his early years in Lynden, ON. He was the youngest of seven children, and born into a large family with many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and was affectionately referred to as Neily Bug.
He relocated to Raymond, ON with his family, and enjoyed the rest of his years in Muskoka, with a brief interlude in British Columbia.
He was a carpenter by trade, and worked in the area for many years. He enjoyed traveling, and during a trip with friends to Scotland was given the distinction of Clan Chief among his group.
He had a penchant for storytelling, and a knack for fixing things. He enjoyed woodworking and had a love for all things old. He could often be found spending time outdoors, usually fireside, enjoying time with friends and family. Neil will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many.
