LEES, Noel Arthur "Turk" - Passed away at his home on Friday, November 9, 2018. Turk will be sadly missed by his wife Wilda (Robertson). He was the devoted father of Brian (Gayleine), Scott (Jeanette), and Catherine Anderson (David). Cherished grandfather of Jason (Tasha), Samantha (Juan), Derek (Ashley), Luke, Logan, Zachary, and Emily. Great-grandfather of Brooklyn, Amora, Jakson, and Alekzandr. Uncle to John and Ken Jr. Born to parents Albert and Florence (Thompson) Lees. Predeceased by sister Joyce.
Turk lived his whole life in Bracebridge. Growing up, he always enjoyed sports with hockey being his favorite. Played and coached local minor hockey, winning various Ontario Championships along the way and later was made a Life Member of Bracebridge Minor Hockey. Turk spent 35 years as a volunteer with the Bracebridge Fire Department cementing a lifelong bond with several of his fellow firefighters. Over the years his hobbies included hunting, fishing, making maple syrup, wood working, gardening, and baking. He won many trophies from our local Fall Fair and was made a Life Member of the Bracebridge Agriculture Society. After marriage in 1959, Turk and Wilda lived on Aubrey St. for several years, raising their three children and making many lifelong friends before moving to their current home.
Turk's employment began at Bracebridge Dairy and retired after many years as the Transportation Officer with the Muskoka Board of Education, where he was awarded the Jack Puntis Exemplary Employee Award. Turk enjoyed his retirement to the fullest, doing all the things he loved (including cheering on his "Leafs"). Each and every day was well planned and not a day went by when he wasn't happy being busy with the days tasks....a life well lived.
