Passed away peacefully at home in Bracebridge, Ontario Sunday, November 17 in her 91st year. Predeceased by husband Gordon Samuel Lahie.
“Grandma” will be sorely missed by her family. Survived by her only daughter Barbara Brown (Daniel) and grandchildren Nathan Brown (Barbara), Josh Brown (Annie), Luke Brown (Elizabeth) and Leah Wood (Jonathan). Enjoyed time with her seven great grandchildren who will miss her, especially during family holidays: Jack Brown, Peter Brown, Victoria Brown, Grace Brown, Sam Brown, James Wood and Isla Wood. Devoted aunt to John Mullen (Sue), great nieces Alison Mullen (Cameron Paulikot) and Hayley Mullen. Great, great aunt to Sam Paulikot, Ben Paulikot and Wren Paulikot who also knew her as Grandma. Norma also enjoyed many family events (including some highly competitive Euchre parties) with members of the extended Lahie family. In addition to her love of Bridge and the several groups she was a member of, Norma was an active member of the Big Sister Association of Hamilton for many years. Most of all she was devoted to her family who will sorely miss her encouraging words and tutelage in the finer points of card playing.
Special thanks to the staff at Castle Peak in Bracebridge who were caring and comforting in her final months. Arrangements will be handled by Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge followed by interment at St. John’s Anglican Church in Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Sister Association of Hamilton or to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka, Canada.
Norma was loved by her many friends and family who take comfort in the knowledge she is finally reunited with Gord in a better place.
