Orpha Morrow

MORROW, Orpha Gertrude Died peacefully at The Pines in Bracebridge, on Friday, January 22, 2016 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Earl Morrow (1998). Loving mother of Verla Hammond of Bracebridge (her husband the late Bill Hammond) and the late Barry Morrow (his wife Cathy Morrow of Bracebridge). Proud grandmother of Chris Morrow (Janice), Meredith Summerley (Dave Heeney), Tammy Hamilton (Troy), Cheryl Rainey (Chris) and Karen Miron (Jeff). She leaves behind ten great grandchildren Bryanna, Kailyn, Courtney, Wade, Marissa, Mitchell, Lauren, Lynell, Kyle & Jenna. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews. Orpha was born in Baysville on March 25, 1918, the seventh child to her beloved parents Wesley & Violet Hammond. She was predeceased by her brothers Aubrey, Alonzo, Cecil & Orval and her sisters Rachael, Edna & Vada. She was a homemaker who assisted her husband with the tasks of running a farm at Muskoka Falls for many years. She took great pride in doing a job well whether it was in the garden, the home or family related. After retirement, they moved to Bracebridge to enjoy years of leisure time together. The funeral will be held at the Reynolds Funeral Home ‘Turner Chapel' on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Municipal Cemetery, Bracebridge in the spring.
