Patrick Mcguire

MCGUIRE, PATRICK JOSEPH Died suddenly at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 at the age of 70 years. Much loved husband of Doris (nee Dierickse) of Torrance and loving father of Michael and his wife Audrey Baran of Annapolis, Maryland. Proud grandfather of twin boys Michael and Patrick McGuire, born April 30, 2009. Brother of Margaret Suplat, Gerald McGuire, and Katherine McGuire. Predeceased by his sister Mary Ellen McGuire. Pat was a well-known executive in the transportation industry, beginning his career in Windsor, ON and remaining in the industry for nearly forty years, ultimately serving as the President and General Manager of Canada's most successful trucking companies which included TNT Canada, Intercity Truck Lines, C.T. Transport and co-owner of Cathcart. He was a member of the Ontario Trucking Association, Canadian Trucking Association, Canadian Transportation Educational Fund and Ducks Unlimited. Pat was an avid boater, snowmobiler, hunter and lover of all things Muskoka. In accordance with Pat's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held with friends and family at a later date, to be advised.
