Peter Rogers

Peter Rogers October 29, 1929- July 29, 2015 It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Rogers. He was 85 years young and spent the last days of his life tending his vegetable garden, fishing with his nephew and golfing with his cousin. Peter was the beloved husband of the late Mary Carol (Hutchison) for 43 years. He was so fortunate to find happiness and love again when he married Linda (Weaymouth) who lit up the last ten years of his life. He loved his children Anne and Paul with unwavering strength and support and was a loving father figure to their spouses Jack and Susan. He was the proud Grandad of Patrick (Gabrielle), Courtney (Kevin), Chris (Marcia) and Jonathan (Jersey). Peter also cherished his role as step-father to Linda's daughters Heidi (David) and Jennifer (Steve) and their children Aidan, Jesse, Hunter, Ryder and Nico. Peter was predeceased by his brothers Maurice and Edwin and he will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Noni Rogers, Mary Jane Rogers and Joyce Hannan, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, his many friends and all those who called him "Uncle Peter". Peter Rogers was a wise and gentle soul who treated everyone he met with respect. His family is remembering the good times, the lessons he taught us and the example he set. He was the head of our family, our rock and our hero and we will miss him forever. A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Saturday August 8 at 4 pm at Kirrie Glen Golf Club, Hwy 118, Bracebridge, Ontario. Memorial donations in Peter's name can be made to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Foundation. The family will receive friends at the Kirrie Glen Gold Club, Hwy. #118 W, Bracebridge, Ontario on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 4 pm to celebrate Peter's life and a time for family and friends to share memories.

Interment Details
