Robert Barnes

BARNES, Robert "Bob" Joseph Died peacefully on Monday, June 25th, 2012 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Liz. Loving father of Violet (Gregg), Douglas (Sandra), Carol (Dave) and John. Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Natalya), Michelle (Dan) and Denise (Will) and great grandfather of Makenna, Lukas and Calla. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Bud and Sarah, his siblings Bill, Judy and Peter and grandson David. Bob had a 35 year career with M.T.C. that took him to Toronto in 1967. Being an avid fisherman and hunter his heart remained in Northern Ontario. He continued to be a member of the Damphino Fishing Club of Thunder Bay. He retired in 1987 and tried to return to where his heart wanted him to go, but only got as far as the near north. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 30th, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Turner Centre, 120 Taylor Road, Bracebridge. As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ALS Society of Ontario or to the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario.
