Ronald Taverner

After enduring a long struggle with declining health, Ron found pain free rest the week after his 90th birthday. Though his time in nursing care was long, Ron never lost his humour or his positive, playful spirit. He loved what he referred to as "his girls" at Muskoka Shores and our family are indebted to the wonderful staff there. Ron was born on the family farm in Lewisham and spent nearly his entire life in Muskoka. He started working life in land clearing and road construction before his life as an entrepreneur, owning a transport company, a Supertest gas station, and finally Muskoka Car Sales in Huntsville. He was passionate about cars until his passing. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, boating, and golf. He particularly enjoyed winters spent in New Smyrna Beach, Florida as well as traveling in Europe and Great Britain. The love of music that runs through the Taverner family was with Ron throughout his life. Ron was the youngest child of a large and loving family. He is predeceased by his parents Pearl and Harold and his eight siblings; as well as his second wife Barbara Anne (Fielding). Ron is survived by his children Nancy (Glenn Sharpe) and Eric (Liisa) and his much beloved granddaughters Amelia and Cailin. A memorial service for Ron will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home at 1 Mary Street in Bracebridge on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A private interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the cancer society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
