ANDREWS, Rose Edna ("nee" Hart) Who passed away of heart failure at The South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in her 88th year. Loving mother of Ginny Townsend (Russ Jack) of Bracebridge, and Brad Ellison (Cindy) of Mississauga. Dear grandmother of Jeremiah Ellison. Loving sister, Dorothy Barber (Cecil), and brother, Russell Hart (Mayben), of Woodstock; sister-in-law Joan Hart of Scarborough, and nieces and nephews -- Carolyn, Gail, Gary, Larry, Lynda, Shelley, Jason, Ron, and their families. Predeceased by her husband, Roy Andrews; two brothers, William Hart (Betty) and Charlie Hart; a sister, Alice Hurd (Lloyd); and a nephew, David Hurd. Rose experienced many health problems throughout most of her life, but she very rarely complained of her circumstances, and always managed a smile, a kind word, and especially a great sense of humor and quick wit. Her warm, friendly and fun-filled nature attracted many friends over the years. Rose was a "giving" person with a passionate heart of gold. Always thinking of others rather than herself. Rose had many interests and talents. She loved to golf, to bowl, and dance the Charleston, the Hula, and to Latin-American music. She enjoyed socializing with friends over a friendly game of Bridge and/or Charades. Rose also loved traveling to tropical locations, going to the horse race track, vegetable and flower gardening, reading palms, tea leaves and Taro Cards, doing hand-writing analysis, accurately guessing someone's sign of the Zodiac, calligraphy, sketching/art, watching spectator sports such as baseball, golf and hockey, writing letters to family, friends and pen pals. She took "Creative Writing" Courses in Toronto which lead her to write and get published short children's stories and romance stories. However, writing Poetry was her utmost passion, and many of them were featured in various newspapers as well as several publications throughout Ontario. Rose was a member of The Readers' Club, The Writers' Club, various Recreational Club exercise groups, and The Ontario Horse Harness Association. Rose also had a love for animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses; and in the wild, wolves and elephants were her favourites. Cremation has taken place. A small memorial service will be held at The Princeton United Church, 24 Elgin St. E., Princeton, Ontario, on Friday, November 19, 2010, at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Ontario. Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
