Ruth Emma (McLellan) Forth passed away October 14, 2014 peacefully after a struggle with Alzheimer's at the Pines in her 92nd, year. Dear wife of the late Ken Forth of Bracebridge. She was born on June 13, 1923 in Montrose, Prince Edward Island, a daughter of the late William E. and Pearl (Smith) McLellan. She is survived by her son Bill of Bracebridge, daughter Barbara Mitchell (John) of Orillia and mother-in-law of the late Edith Forth. Ruth was the loving sister of Ivan McLellan of Nova Scotia, Mary Auld (Edison) McLellan of P.E.I. and sister-in-law of Malcolm MacLean of Cape Breton. Predeceased by siblings Everett, Marion, Bill, Ira, Edith and Helen. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Angela Ghikadis (Ed) Bracebridge, Barry Mitchell (Karen) Orillia and Kevin Forth (Luann) Gravenhurst and great grandchildren Brittany and Kimberly Mitchell and Nicholas and Natalie Ghikadis. Ruth will be affectionately remembered for her love of baking (bread was her specialty); tending to her many vegetable and flower gardens, quilting and sewing. She was a life-member of St Thomas Anglican Church serving at one time on the Chancel Guild. Ruth and Ken loved the outdoors; long walks, taking vacations-especially visiting Ruth' family back home in P.E.I. and entertaining friends and neighbors. They especially loved spending time with their grandchildren. One of the happiest times of their lives was when Angela, Kevin and Barry were very young, would spend hours with Gran and Papa, especially during the summer. Ruth moved to Bracebridge from Summerside P.E.I. and lived with her in-laws until Ken was discharged from the Royal Canadian Air Force at the end of W.W. II. They then built their home on Woodward Street. Saturday, October 18th, 2014 would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary. A private family service was held at the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel" in Bracebridge on Thursday, October 16th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kelly Baetz officiating.
