Sandy Harju

Sandy Harju passed away at home on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 72. Beloved spouse of many years to Nancy Harju.

Treasured father of Steve and Troy Harju. Dear grandfather of Troy (Georgina), Niki (Keegan), and Dallas (Dennis). His memory will also be forever cherished by his great-grandchildren: Troy and Georgina’s children, Lily, Abby, and Blake; Niki and Keegan’s daughter Nina Stevie; Dallas and Denis’s son Mason Sandy.

Sandy was the dear brother of Marina (Ken), Bill (Mona), Cheryl, Allan, as well as Nancy’s siblings Barb (Dick), Jim (Barb), Karl (Marion), and Darlene (Cam). He will also be missed by his dear four-legged friends, his two yellow labs Brody and Cody. He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Stella, sister Marlene and his two sons Steve and Troy.

Sandy will always be remembered as a hardworking man with a great sense of humour. He had a love for the outdoors. One of his most prized possessions was his Scarab boat on which he spent countless hours boating and fishing with his brothers or anyone who would join him. In Spring, he was always dedicated to his sugar shack, making maple syrup every year. He spent his working life building up two businesses: Sandy’s Autobody and Troy Cove Marine. Sandy was also known to take Sunday drives with Nancy in his beloved Camaro.
