Sarah Lazzara

Sarah Mary Lazzara died at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on June 4, 2019 at the age of 101. She was born in Bracebridge on December 16, 1917, oldest daughter of the late Frank and Mary Lazzara of Bracebridge.

For thirty-eight years she taught school in Muskoka. Her first school was a one room school in Germania. Then S.S #8 Macaulay. Later she taught in the V.K. Greer School before coming to Bracebridge Public School. She retired in 1977.

She will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Myrtle Lazzara and Betty Lazzara. Sarah (Aunt Sally) will also be missed by nieces and nephews, Wayne Colson, Wilma (Bob) Irvine, Rosemarie (Keith) Sherrard, and Ronald (Lynn) Colson; Sandra Greer and Frank (Colleen) Lazzara; Richard (Lois) Lazzara, Michael (Donna) Lazzara, and Sarajane (David) Charron.

She was predeceased by brothers Philip, Joseph, and Carm and sister Celia Colson and niece Linda Ball as well as great niece Joanna MacGregor.

The family will receive friends at Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge Friday, June 28th 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Prayers at 1:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a burial and reception to follow.
