It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge with family by her side on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the age of 83. Beloved wife to Stan for 64 years. Dear sister of Margaret (Murray) Nutt. Predeceased by her brother Bob (d. Carol). Loving mother to Jennifer (Jamie) McFadyen, Beth (Ron) Bowen, Paul Greer (Julia) and John Greer (Vicki). Loving grandmother to Kyle Bowen (Melissa), Amy McFadyen (Robin), Kadie Scott (Kyle), Mackenzie McNair (Mitch) and Braeden Greer (Ashley). Loving great-grandmother to Madison Bowen, Mason and Garrett Matchett, Tyson Bowen and Axel McNair. She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Helen Stephens (d. Bob) and Marilyn Beirness (d. Stan) and brothers-in-law the late Gord Greer (Helen) and Irvin Greer (Jean); as well as her nieces and nephews and all who knew her.
We have fond memories of Shirley enjoying time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends over the years.
We would like to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors who cared for Shirley and brought comfort to her family during her final days in hospital.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date followed by a celebration of life.
