It is with great sadness her family announces the passing of Sylvia van der Jagt in her 93rd year.
Sylvia died peacefully on the afternoon of March 14, 2023, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. She was a cherished and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her husband John (Jack) of 73 years, sons Fred, (Christie), Michael (Christine), Russell (Beverly), and daughter Susan (Stephen) Grandchildren Amy (Jayson), Emma, Graeme, Joseph (Cheryl), Linda, Katherine, Adam (Kimberly), Abby (Nick), Alex, Sarah (Trevor), Daevyd (Manuel), and Great Grandmother to Kelton, Brennan, Atlas, Ryder, Evelyn, and Eleanor. Survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Kennedy. Predeceased by sisters Mavis Thornton and Nancy Nelson and brother, Fred Evans.
A combined funeral service will be held this Saturday, March 18th, at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Bracebridge ON. Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Thomas Anglican Church, Bracebridge, and can be arranged through Reynolds Funeral Home.
