Ulrich Kretschmar

October 25, 1941 — December 16, 2014

KRETSCHMAR, Dr. ULRICH HORST - passed away of a sudden cardiac event on December 16, 2014 in Bracebridge, ON at the age of 73, after a life of world travels and rock collecting in his career as a geologist. A long-time resident of Orillia, member of the Orillia Wind Ensemble, and an avid photographer, Ulrich will be so very deeply missed by his wife Laura Carter (Bracebridge, formerly Orillia), son Daniel Kretchmar (Severn Bridge), sister step-son Tim Carter (Toronto), step-daughter Lauren Carter (Jason Mills) of The Pas, Manitoba, step-daughter Carey Carter (Mark Blair), grandsons Mitchell and Jake from Barrie, sister Ulrike Kretschmar and mother Maximilian Kretschmar (Peterborough). A celebration of his life is planned for July 2015.
