Vernon Shute

SHUTE, Vernon Douglas Passed away quietly at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, August 20th, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Judy, loving father of Stephen (Che) Diane (Andrew), and Laura (Wai) and grandfather of Lyta, Ethan, and Alana. Vern was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, came to Ontario as an electrical engineer, and worked the next 43 years for Ontario Hydro, retiring as a Director of Transmission and Distribution of Power. Vern was an avid runner, painter, potter, teacher, bridge player, cook, canoeist, hiker, and traveler. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 15th, 2013 between 1 - 3 p.m. at the Burlington Art Centre in the Fireside Lounge. 1333 Lakeshore Rd. Burlington, Ont. 905 632-7796. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Soldiers Memorial Hospital- Dialysis Unit, or Festival of the Sound- Parry Sound.
