Woodrow Russell McIntyre, known by his family and friends as Woody, passed peacefully from natural causes at home on December 2nd, 2024, at the age of 52. Woody was born in Bracebridge, Ontario on October 7th, 1972. After surviving childhood cancer, he went on to be actively involved in numerous sports at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School. Woody spent many years living and working in Lions Head after obtaining his Tool and Dye ticket. He returned to Muskoka to work as a Millwright for many years while volunteering with the Ontario Provincial Police as an auxiliary officer.
Woody was an avid outdoorsman who treasured time in nature with his family and friends. He loved fishing trips to Kippawa and hunting trips to White River as well as walks in the forest, backyard bonfires, and pig roast barbecues.
Woody was predeceased by his parents, Bonnie Hall-McIntyre and Garry McIntyre. He is survived by his sister Amanda (Shawn), his brother Jody, and his five children: Maggie (Nathan), Robyn (Justin), Rachael, Teghan, and Garth. He will be remembered by his granddaughters Chelsea and Claire-Anne as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and celebration of Woody’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge, Ontario, with service immediately following at 3:00 pm.
